Already under contract, the new systems exploit BIRD’s proven radar and optical technologies in the terrestrial domain.

Eurosatory, Paris – Hall 6 Booth D681

BIRD Aerosystems, a global provider of innovative defense technologies and solutions that protect the air, sea and ground fleets of governments and related agencies, launches its new Land Systems business line and unveils two new products for the first time at Eurosatory exhibition: Hybrid-Eye, an advanced hybrid detection system that improves the protection of armored vehicles, and µMPR, a miniature airborne radar for land and sea border surveillance.

Leveraging BIRD Aerosystems’ advanced radar solutions, optical technologies and algorithms implemented in its combat-proven airborne solutions worldwide, the new all-in-one miniaturized solutions are ideal for medium to small platforms. , providing a new level of detection and protection that wasn’t part of the capabilities of these systems before.

Hybrid Eye is an advanced all-in-one detection system that supports the protection of armored vehicles against potential large-scale threats. Designed for Active Protection Systems (APS) and Vehicle Protection Systems (VPS), the system provides rapid detection, confirmation and tracking of a wide range of threats, including anti-tank missiles, RPGs, drones and artillery shells, while maintaining a single LRU design and the smallest SWAP available on the market.

Incorporating a phased array radar, multiple IR warning detectors and a laser warning detector, the Hybrid-EYE uses BIRD’s advanced internal fusion algorithms to achieve superior multi-band detection and tracking of multiple threats, regardless of either clutter or saturation of the environment. Compact and lightweight, the Hybrid-Eye sensor allows for easy installation and maintenance on ground vehicles of all sizes, and is fully compatible with any Hard-Kill or Soft-Kill system while providing the operator with full situational awareness around the vehicle.

µMPR (Micro Maritime Patrol Radar) is a miniature airborne radar with advanced proprietary technology for maritime border protection. Ideal for installation on small unmanned aerial platforms, small helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, the µMPR leverages BIRD’s radar technologies along with millimeter wave (mmW) technology to cut through the clutter of the sea, improving detection capability and significantly increasing mission efficiency and cost. Efficiency.

Ronen Factor, Co-CEO and Founder of BIRD Aerosystems: “We are proud to further expand our offerings and present BIRD’s new range of ground systems for the first time at Eurosatory. Small and lightweight, the Hybrid Eye and µMPR utilize BIRD’s most advanced technologies that have proven their effectiveness over years of operational activity around the world. As the recent conflict in Ukraine has shown us, the importance of these systems in protecting the lives of soldiers is beyond doubt.

With both solutions already under contract, I believe that this technological leap marks only the beginning of our activity in this field”.
