When the sun sets behind the mountains, temperatures begin to drop. Okay, it’s still a bit warm, but that doesn’t stop you from enjoying what the desert has to offer after the sun goes down.

That’s right, in many cases you just go from an air-conditioned house to your air-conditioned car instead of air-conditioned, but hey, you walk out of the house so who’s complaining? If you don’t mind summer evenings outside, we’ve got you covered, too.

Cahuilla Lake near La Quinta offers extended night fishing hours until 9pm on “Seeding Fridays”. Check out the catfish stocking schedules on their website.
A current fishing license is required and they are not sold in the park. Fishing fees are $ 10 for adults and $ 8 per child. Catfish stocking schedule: July 16, July 30, August 13, August 27, September 3 and September 17.
