As a college student in the Bay Area, I remember hearing stories from friends whose parents spent the night at the hotel only to feel totally freaked out by the Victorian mansion, “I believe the hotel is haunted,” a Tripadvisor reviewer writing, “I half woke up one night to feel like someone was tucking me in and gently pressing my collarbone.” The next day, the reviewer discovered that the hotel, which was a former girls’ boarding school, is believed to be haunted by its former headmistress.
