The monster is hiding in plain sight | Religion and values

For we do not fight against enemies of flesh and blood, but against evil rulers and authorities in the invisible world, against mighty powers in this dark world and against evil spirits in heavenly places.

For many, the discussion of good and evil is therefore, for lack of a better word, religious. Good and bad, light and dark, with little margin for error. While others like to see it as an intellectual gray area, “one man’s evil is another’s good.” So open-minded, it almost sounds like it could describe garage sale gear. And wouldn’t they be offended by this description!

I must confess that this discussion of good and evil will be my experience with the influence of the Holy Word of God as a reference. BE CAREFUL, you may be offended by the descriptions of evil used in the writing of this column.

At a recent birthday lunch with two of my grandchildren, my grandson, the birthday boy, wanted to eat at a popular 1950s style restaurant. While the music is good, I think about his. free ice cream that brings it back. We quickly unpacked their children’s meals and started building mountains of ketchup in the little white paper containers. They were soon dipping fries and enjoying their meals.

My grandson loves the Bible story and suddenly asked his 6 year old cousin if she had heard of the 10 Plagues. She immediately informed him, with a confident smile, that she knew most of them. One by one, she named them, and my grandson looked at me and said, “Nana, she’s so smart for her age! I laughed to myself and accepted.

Karl Marx, the father of Marxism said: “Keep people out of their history and they will be easily checked. “

You might be wondering, “Why on earth would he bring up the 10 plagues?” See, the day before he asked me to read the Bible to him. I asked for his preference, Adam and Eve, Jonah and the Big Fish, or David and Goliath, and to my amazement he said, “Can you read about the Passover? As we read Exodus 12, we began to discuss the Passover and its significance for the Jewish people, and we inevitably ventured into the 10 Plagues.

Marx also said: “Take away the heritage of a nation and they will be more easily persuaded. “

Our families frequently discuss our freedom in America, but we also declare our freedom from sin through the saving grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Both freedoms were on full display with the grandchildren and worthy of a Nana photoshoot.

After taking her photo full of smiles, a disturbing image was discovered in the background. There was a person at the counter in unusual blood-splattered clothing, carrying a bloodied half-decapitated doll on his back.

As an adult, knowing it was wrong always bothered me. Knowing my sensitive 6 year old granddaughter who plays with dolls, that would be devastating.

The children continued their Bible discussion, laughing every now and then, forgetting that the couple were looking for a seat in the restaurant. For maximum attention, the couple sat in the middle of the restaurant, with the bloody half-brained baby doll centerpiece.

I had hoped they would put the baby in a chair out of sight, but that didn’t happen. Like most grandparents, I wanted to protect their little eyes from atrocity.

I prayed and asked God to help me figure out what to do and protect them from sight. They were so close that I was afraid the children would see it. Should I have gone and asked them to take it off, maybe, but I didn’t want to draw attention to them, so I kept praying.

I guess we could have joined them and started talking about the Passover. I could have struck up a conversation about the music, but they were pushing away anything but “Good Vibrations”.

A sudden lull in the conversation caused the children to glance around the restaurant. My granddaughter’s rapid collapse began to cover her eyes and uncontrollable crying set my feet in motion. My grandson leaned over me and asked me, “Why would anyone want to do this with a baby?” “

Arriving at the car, with tears streaming down, I continued to counsel the children, praying that the couple’s hearts would be softened to the needs of others.

We continued to pray for God’s protection and provision, asking him for peace and security. We asked Jesus to show them how much he loves them.

We asked him to put people in their path to share his love. I did what I felt was best, encouraging them to seek God in prayer in times of fear.

Hoping to prepare others for possible encounters, I decided to post the incident on Facebook. The principle being that prayer has a calming effect on the spiritual level with frightening or frightening things.

Wow, that really hit a nerve! There was no understanding of the separation of sin from the sinner, I was just a critical “Christian”.

In less than an hour, I received 400 vicious, verbal and pornographic memes accusing me of everything you could dream of. It was amazing how spontaneous evil came to the defense of evil. I had a few supporters, but even the faithful joined the crowd. They were a little more polite, but just as critical as I had supposedly been.

Another quote from Karl Marx, “My goal in life is to dethrone God and destroy capitalism. “

At this time, two deputies of the sheriff are in surgery after being ambushed in their cruiser. An officer is also the mother of a 6 year old child. Both officers were shot in the face at close range.

The crowd applauded their shots and blocked the arrival of the ambulance at the hospital. Maybe this reaches the level of evil we want us to take action on.

Christians should wipe the drowsiness from their eyes and start praying for our country, before it is too late.

Finally, Marx said this: “We have no compassion and we ask you for no compassion when our turn comes, we will not seek excuses for terror.”

Of course, it was just a doll.
