Tickets went on sale Sunday for an additional Powerball draw every Monday starting this week.
Nothing in the game will change as players from 48 states will still pick five numbers from 1 to 69 plus a Powerball from 1 to 26. The extra draw will result in jackpots growing faster.
The annuity jackpot for Monday’s draw is $ 293 million with a cash value of $ 214.2 million.
New Hampshire Powerball players were very lucky in 2021 with six tickets sold worth $ 1 million or more. A Mega Millions ticket worth $ 1 million was sold for Tuesday’s draw.
“We have just completed a record year of sales and net profits for education and this new fiscal year has started well,” said NH Lottery spokesperson Maura McCann. The lottery has also extended the draws for its Lucky For Life game to seven evenings per week.
Powerball is also adding a game called Double Play for an additional $ 1, players will use the same numbers both in the Powerball drawing and for separate numbers in a Double Play drawing. It’s only available in 13 states, but none of the New England states. McCann said it could be something New Hampshire will add at a later date.
